Tokyo Ghoul: re birth will feature anime visuals with 2D illustrations and 3D models, as well as a tap combo battle system where players will be able to form a team of six characters from a selection of over 100 from both Tokyo Ghoul and Tokyo Ghoul: re. Three of the selected characters will be in the front line while the other three will be placed behind them.
re birth is also set to feature a leveling system where players can upgrade their characters to obtain special abilities. Territory Battles separate players into Humans and Ghouls as they battle to take over the different wards of Tokyo while ranking rewards.
Tokyo Ghoul: re birth is the second mobile game based on Tokyo Ghoul to be released in the West after Tokyo Ghoul: Dark War launched for iOS and Android earlier this year.
The first Tokyo Ghoul console game to release in the west, Tokyo Ghoul: re Call to Exist, will launch for PlayStation 4 in Japan this winter and is set to release in North America and Europe in 2019 for PlayStation 4 and PC. The second season of Tokyo Ghoul: re will premiere in October.
Tokyo Ghoul: re birth will launch on iOS and Android this fall. Interested players can pre-register on Google Play.
