What hasn’t changed is how kick-ass they make you feel with their flashy spells and unique weapons. Almost every weapon in Elden Ring is viable, but the fun factor varies wildly. You’ll have to stray off the beaten path if you want the most enjoyment out of your Faith build. Here are some of the most unique and enjoyable weapons for a faithful Tarnished.
10. Coded Sword
The Coded Sword is a Straight Sword with a sole wielding requirement of 20 Faith. You could be emaciated, eaten away by rot, and barely able to stand – but if you trust the Two Fingers, you can brandish this holy weapon easily. This blade is tough to deflect by enemy shields, but its weapon skill – Unblockable Blade – takes it to the next level. Obtained by: Investigating the throne on the upstairs throne room of the Fortified Manor in the Royal Capital of Leyndell.
9. St Trina’s Torch
One fun and unorthodox way to play through Elden Ring is putting everyone to sleep. It’s gentler than poison and bleeding, and it’ll help peace-loving characters make it through without shedding any unnecessary blood. St. Trina’s Torch is the perfect Faith-scaling off-hand weapon for an Elden Ring pacifist. Blowing purple haze at your enemies with the Fires of Slumber skill gets them nice and mellow in no time. If that fails, some whacks with this torch should do the trick. Obtained by: Exploring to the northeast of the Consecrated Snowfield site of grace.
8. Envoy’s Long Horn
The Envoy’s Long Horn could easily earn a spot on the ranking just based on its meme-tastic name. Instead, it earns its place thanks to its skill: Bubble Shower. The silliest part of blowing bubbles at Eldritch abominations and unholy creatures is that the bubbles work like a charm. Just whacking people across the face with the Envoy’s Long Horn is also a blast. Obtained by: Hunting down Large Oracle Envoys near the East Capital Rampart or Miquella’s Haligtree.
7. Magma Blade
The Magma Blade is a somewhat underrated Curved Sword with solid STR and FAI scaling. While some people might focus on the STR to increase damage, you can also prioritize FAI to abuse the Magma Shower weapon art. This skill lets you advance toward the enemy slashing in a corkscrew motion and spraying magma on the ground. It’s flashy and quite effective against human enemies. Even if you don’t manage to land a hit, you’ll create a pool of lava between you and your enemy, giving you time to breathe deep before trying again. Obtained by: Killing what seems like an infinite number of Magma Blade-carrying Man-serpents in Volcano Manor.
6. Erdtree Bow
Not many Elden Ring players engage with the bow. With so many long-distance options in the form of sorceries and incantations, it’s just not necessary. If you want to shake things up as a pious Tarnished, check out the Erdtree Bow. It scales all arrow damage off Faith and deals potent Holy damage along with regular Physical damage. Coupling it with Golden Arrows or Haligbone Arrows allows you to double down on the Holy damage. This makes the Erdtree Bow a nuke against Deathbirds, Ancestor Spirits, and Albinaurics. Learn to free-aim it in close quarters, and you can make it a killer weapon in PvP. Obtained by: Looting a chest on the second floor of the Erdtree Sanctuary site of grace building.
5. Giant’s Red Braid
If you’ve found weapons like the Ringed Finger or Sword of Milos, you know the stylish braid of a giant isn’t the weirdest thing to arm yourself with in the Lands Between. Thanks to the whip’s low popularity next to every other weapon archetype, most PvP players don’t know what to expect when a madman comes forth brandishing two fiery whips. That moment of hesitation is all you need to come at them with your Flame Dance skill and set their souls on fire. Obtained by: Taking the Remembrance of the Fire Giant to Enia at the Roundtable Hold.
4. Sword of Night and Flame
I don’t want to change my weapon whenever I enter a new area. I like coming up with a build as much as the next guy, but spending most of my time comparing weapons isn’t fun. The Sword of Night and Flame is the perfect versatile solution. Thanks to the Night-and-Flame Stance skill, it gives you access to a Comet Azur-type energy beam and a fiery slash with a comically wide area of effect. You also get the sweet Straight Sword moveset. Obtained by: Thoroughly exploring Caria Manor until finding your way inside a locked room near the east-side gardens. Watch this video if you’re having trouble.
3. Cranial Vessel Candlestand
If you want to go the way of Mount Vesuvius and rack up a kill count in the millions, you can’t go wrong with the Cranial Vessel Candlestand. According to the item description, an ancient Flame Monk called Birac severed his own head as a way to show his brothers his respect for the flame. Luckily, you don’t need to lose your head to wreak the benefits of the Cranial Vessel Candlestand. Its skill, Surge of Faith, turns you into a faith-powered fireball sprinkler, raining down holy fire in every direction. It’s the most fun way to take care of crowds in Elden Ring. Obtained by: Examining a corpse at the end of a hallway locked behind an Imp Statue in the Giant-Conquering Hero’s Grave.
2. Cipher Pata
The Cipher Pata is the Fist version of the Coded Sword we started the ranking with. Wielding a weird, unorthodox weapon like the Pata will always be more fun than a regular old Straight Sword, so it’s higher up on our list. The Fist moveset is a blast in Elden Ring, and the Cipher Pata makes it viable for FAI-based characters. You also look like a one-clawed Wolverine with these on, which is hilarious. Obtained by: Exploring the room immediately to the left after landing in the downstairs area where you fight Mad Tongue Alberich in the Roundtable Hold.
1. Marika’s Hammer
What’s more fun than a giant hammer? A giant hammer with the power of the gods! At first glance, Marika’s Hammer doesn’t look like a hammer with the power to shatter the world – but trust your Faith. Its skill, Gold Breaker, will quickly remind any non-believers of the Holy power of Marika. It might not be the most potent weapon in the game, but a mighty divine hammer will always be fun to use. Obtained by: Defeating the Elden Beast and exchanging its Remembrance with Enia at the Roundtable Hold.
